Chalk Cliffs

Chalk Cliffs builds on a bright headland. Chalk block walls sit in fine pale joints, a second course sprouts tufts of windblown grass from the seams, and cobblestone mixes white chalk chunks with dark flint nodules, plain or overgrown with coastal grass. Plain chalk, a polished dark flint slab with a sharp conchoidal chip, warm brick-red fired brick and grey-flecked bone-cream plaster carry the walls. Silvered driftwood and weathered grey-brown boards pair with wind-scoured pale bark and a cream ringed log top, and a shelf of bleached volumes and chalk pebbles, ecru sailcloth, a flint slab and springy coastal turf scattered with sea-thrift pink finish the set. This is surface artwork only: no block glows, no light level changes and nothing behaves differently.
