Jungle Temple

Jungle Temple is a step-temple the rainforest has already taken back. Pale grey-green limestone carries a carved stepped-fret relief in fine dark joints, and a second course traces that same fret in warm gold inlay with green tendrils creeping across it, which is the signature of the set. Rounded temple cobblestone comes weathered and bare or choked with deep moss in every gap. Plain pitted limestone, near-black volcanic glass shot through with a faint green crackle, deep red-ochre fired brick and bone-cream stucco carry the structure. Warm honey plank boards pair with near-chocolate ironwood, an upright jungle log wrapped in thin green vines, and its cut top showing warm honey rings. A shelf of small carved stone idols, clay vessels and bound bundles, herringbone palm-leaf matting in straw and olive, a scored dark basalt slab and dense undergrowth flecked with tiny pale blossoms finish the set. Gold is the only bright accent and it appears on one block. This is surface artwork only: nothing glows, nothing is transparent and no block behaves differently.
